200 Mile Charity Cycle Ride in aid of The Royal British Legion

Stephanie & Stuart set off from the Flodden Gates to the cheers of their Barmoor friends

A small crowd gathered this drizzly Monday May morning at the recently opened Flodden Gates to wave off mother and son, Stephanie & Stuart McCluskey at the beginning of their journey from Barmoor Castle to Edinburgh, and back again.  A circular route over the Moorfoot Hills and returning via the coast.  And not by car might I add; they are cycling and even the rain didn't put them off.

This commendable pair have set off on a 200 mile trip with the hope of raising money for the British Legion, expected to arrive back on Friday 3rd June, hopefully in time for tea!  After a quick countdown and some words of good will from some of the Barmoor Castle holidayhome owners, they set off on their way, closely followed by husband Roy, who is accompanying them in his white van & trailer, with supplies and support.  We wish them all the luck in the world and hope they return safe (and not too wet) on Friday.  If you want to donate, you can do so via the website www.justgiving.com/stephanie-and-stuart or drop by the park reception where the collection tin is located.
