Ask the guests: Why Barmoor?

Keith Lazenby owns a beautiful van on South Lawn, where he and his wife Elizabeth can often be found enjoying the peaceful nature of Barmoor.

Keith is also keen cyclist, so much so in fact he reached a total of 3000 miles on his bike last year from his base Barmoor. The roads and area around Barmoor offer some of the best cycling in the UK - possibly why the tour of Britain has passed our gates twice - and Keith certainly knows how to make the most of the wideopen spaces in North Northumberland.

"You see parts of the countryside you wouldn't see by walking or driving"

Keith and his wife Elizabeth like to use their holiday home as a base to explore the beautiful Northumberland Countryside. At just a one hour drive from city life to country life, they can't emphasise enough how Barmoor is a hidden gem and unlike so many other country parks.

In the video it's clear to see that the film crew were shooting during a classic April day - with sun, thn showers, then sun again. Keith ventures from Barmoor to Ford Common, before he then takes in the Cheviots at Kirknewton - a mere 8 miles from Barmoor . Keith informed us that he and Elizabeth value the idyllic, yet well connected location of Barmoor as when he goes for a long bike ride, he can simply head the most direct way home and jump in a nice warm shower should the weather turn against him. The infrastructure of piped gas and residential grade electricty here at Barmoor ensure that you aren't going to be caught short when a warm bath or shower beckons!

We'll be releasing videos over the next month to highlight what different guests get from Barmoor - each with their own unique stories.
